How to wash sheets?
If the fabric is made of pure natural fibre, it is recommended to wash it at a maximum of 40ºC in a washing machine, on a delicate cycle and with a spin speed of no more than 800 revolutions.
The use of natural sheets is a good practice to avoid allergies or breathing difficulties during sleep, as well as the deposit of mites in the bedding. However, when we wash our sheets we wonder at what temperature we can put them in the washing machine.
For cotton sheets , such as those from Dalfilo, washing at no more than 40°C in the washing machine is recommended. It is important not to wash cotton products with synthetic products, even if the same method is suitable for both. In general, for washing it is advisable to follow the instructions on the label. The secret to keep in mind is to set a spin speed that does not exceed 800 rpm: this is the only precaution that will allow you to minimize the loss of centimeters.
The temperature is 40°C and is valid for both cotton and flannel or satin sheets. If it is a silk model, it is more appropriate to wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle.
In natural fabrics that do not include synthetic fibers, it is normal to have a shrinkage of up to approximately 4-5% after the first wash. This loss is physiological and cannot be completely eliminated. In fact, in a way you have to look at it from a positive perspective since it confirms that the garment is actually made from a pure cotton fabric and does not contain other fibers of synthetic origin.
Also remember not to overload the washing machine : there is a risk that in the long run the drum will be damaged and the garment will not be cleaned properly.
